Message Installed the Selin Kit that I got from the Z1 Nationals raffle last night .... ( thanks Z1 for the raffle opportunity )

First impression - this kit rocks !!!

I think this is one of the top five upgrades I have done for the Z that I enjoy

1) Manifolds
2) 3 inch exhaust
3) 2.5 inch intercooler piping
4) Nistune
5) Selin Maf Kit
ohh and 6) Big ass turbo ~ well at the time ( I guess that makes it 6 things huh )

before ( old pic )

after

The only thing I would wish 4 are:

1) perhaps another 1 inch of travel in the short MAF connector
2) perhaps a mirror version of the mounting bracket to place the tab on the other side
3) perhaps a maf extension for the stock maf to the translator

with my PTU relocated .. the suggested mounting spot was not an option .. but I worked around it .. I also have my water injection pump in that area ..so space is a hot commodity

OBSERVATION :
1) immediate boost response
2) immediate seat of the pants torque increase from about 2500 to 3500. See no reason why I would not experrience a lift throughout the rev range.
3) smoother idle (used self learn on Conzult )
4) car didn't die off gas coming to a stop

I have had the JWT intake w/driveability hose and the Ash Spec doolz intake ... as the Ash Spec Doolz outperformed the JWT in terms of fuction and simplicity ( no driveability hose needed ) ..the Selin Maf kit improves on all current untake designs and it beats both products ....

If you get the complete kit with the couplers -- the diameter of the couplers appears to allow more air than the JWT elbows (thinner coupler wall ) and the Doolz intake ( larger diameter hole ) .. more air ..more power ---similiar to the thought process of the larger intercooler piping.. ( Jim would need to comment on this ) ...

Additionally, having a more accurate MAF voltage is a plus for the Z32 (especially for high rwhp Zs ) as a more precise MAF voltage will help the ECU determine the more precise parameters vs using a driveability hose or a cross sectional doolz intake design to "approximate" the incoming air into the motor.

With the Ash Spec doolz in particular - using conzult - I notice volatile MAF readings when off gas.. small and not noticeable to the Z owner who doesn't have Nistune or Conzult - It was almost like the MAF voltage was "twitching" ( probably from the cross sectional design of the intake ).

With the Selin Kit, the MAF voltage was spot on when off gas -- not "shacky" at all ...

I am surprisingly pleased with the Selin product - with the larger turbos --I really like the improved boost response .. coupled with BOVs for the immediate boost in between shifts and BB turbos .. the boost response now feels like a sport 500 car ( ok maybe I'm exxagerating a bit -- but you get the picture )

Honestly, I wouldn't buy any other intake - I like it that much - I recommend to contact any of the vendors or the product ..

- good job Jim !!!! -

ps. my doolz intake with couplers and dummy maf will be in classifieds shortly
